County Constable
The Sussex County Constable's Office is responsible for enforcement of the County Code, and is charged with investigating public complaints related to property maintenance and zoning issues. Property maintenance issues can include tall grass, trash, and/or abandoned vehicles.
When a violation is issued, the office works closely with individuals to bring their properties into compliance with the County Code. In extreme circumstances when all other means have been exhausted, the office issues criminal summonses to violators, who must appear before the Delaware Justice of the Peace Court for resolution.
