Treasury Department

Sussex County provides a variety of services to its residents. These services are funded, in part, by real estate and capitation taxes. There are more than 162,700 parcels located within the approximately 938 square miles of land in Sussex County. The Treasury Division staff is responsible for the billing, collection and disbursement of taxes and other levies within the county. For Fiscal Year 2009, the Treasury Division issued more than 167,000 tax bills totaling approximately $100.6 million, to be collected on behalf of the general government, local libraries and the eight school districts within the county. We are now offering a web site to provide property tax data and payment information, as well as other general information. Links to our online property tax information can be found by clicking on "Search for Tax Records" on the left side of this page.
