Learn about various services provided by Easter Seals

Georgetown, DE (July 8, 2015): Easter Seals has been helping individuals with disabilities and special needs, and their families, live better lives for nearly 90 years, offering everything from child development centers to job training to help meet life's challenges.  

The Sussex County Advisory Committee on Aging & Adults with Physical Disabilities will host a presentation at its next meeting, at 10 a.m. Monday, July 20, to learn more about the services provided by Easter Seals of Delmarva and how they benefit the citizens of Sussex County. Linda Forte, community relations coordinator, will provide a presentation, “Easter Seals – Serving the Community”, highlighting various resources available from the agency, particularly those designed to help seniors and those with physical disabilities achieve a healthier, more independent life. The meeting will be held at the CHEER Community Center, 20520 Sand Hill Road, in Georgetown.

The Sussex County Advisory Committee on Aging & Adults with Physical Disabilities is an 11-member panel established by the Sussex County Council to be an advocate for programs and policies that benefit older and disabled residents. The committee meets every other month, in January, March, May, July, September and November. All meetings are open to the public.

The Advisory Committee’s mission is to increase dialogue, make recommendations to Sussex County Council, and to give support, assistance and advice on significant issues and programs that may affect the lives of the county’s aging and adults with physical disabilities populations.
