Sussex County government offices are closed Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, due to winter weather.

The scheduled meeting of the Sussex County Council for today has been canceled. Items on the Council's agenda will be rescheduled for a future meeting. Meantime, the scheduled sheriff's sale will be postponed until March.

Most roads in the county remain snow-covered at 6 a.m. as the winter storm is beginning to wind down. Delaware Department of Transportation crews will continue to focus on primary roads first, before working their way to secondary and back roads. Motorists are urged to avoid driving, if possible; if travel is a must, please exercise caution, allow for extra time and yield plenty of distance to other vehicles.
