Sussex County government offices on two-hour delay Monday, Jan. 3, due to forecasted winter weather

Due to a forecasted major winter storm, County offices are scheduled at this time to open two hours late Monday, Jan. 3, 2022. This delay is subject to change based on the latest forecast and observed conditions Monday morning.

A winter storm warning is in effect for Sussex County, Delaware, through late Monday, Jan. 3. Forecasters are predicting rain changing to snow in the pre-dawn hours, accumulating 2 to 9 inches depending on location, with winds as high as 30 mph throughout the day. Meantime, cold air that moves in behind the storm is forecast to drop temperatures across the area into the teens on Monday night.
